Local Furnace Repair You Can Actually Get Hold Of
Grays Harbor is not a big market, and that cuts both ways. There are fewer contractors, so wait times can stretch. It also means we know the housing stock. We have worked on the 1940s farmhouses out toward Satsop with the furnace tucked into a damp crawlspace, the manufactured homes around Montesano running sealed combustion units, and the newer builds in Elma with high efficiency condensing furnaces.

Signs Your Furnace Needs Repair
Most of the calls we take in November and December start with one of these:
- The furnace will not start at all, or it fires and then shuts down after a minute or two

A furnace that short cycles is trying to tell you something specific. Nine times out of ten it is a restricted filter, a failing pressure switch, or a flame sensor that has carbon on it. The unit is protecting itself. Left alone, that same protection cycle cooks the heat exchanger.
What a Single Visit Repair Looks Like
We schedule tightly and we come stocked. Here is the actual sequence.
Arrival and intake. We ask what you heard, what you smelled, and when it started. Homeowners notice things a meter does not.
Full diagnostic. We check gas pressure against the manufacturer's rating plate, test the igniter and flame sensor, read amp draw on the blower motor, inspect the heat exchanger for cracks, and confirm the flue is drawing properly.
Repair on the spot. Our vans carry the parts that fail most on the units around here: flame sensors, hot surface igniters, pressure switches, run capacitors, limit switches and common blower motors. In our experience that covers the large majority of no-heat calls without a second appointment.
Safety verification. Every repair ends with a carbon monoxide reading, a check of the safety controls and limit switches, and a temperature rise measurement across the heat exchanger to confirm the furnace is running inside spec.

What moves the price on a furnace repair is the part itself, whether the unit is a standard efficiency or a condensing model, and how buried the equipment is. Repair or Replace: How We Decide With You
Here is the question we get asked at the kitchen table more than any other. Is it worth fixing?
Our honest test: if the furnace is under twelve years old and the repair costs less than a third of a replacement, fix it. Past eighteen years, with a repair bill climbing toward half of a new system, replacement usually wins on running cost alone. Older furnaces in this area run at 60 to 80 percent efficiency. A current condensing unit runs above 95 percent, and that gap shows up on every Puget Sound Energy bill for the next twenty years.
A cracked heat exchanger is the one case with no debate. That is a carbon monoxide risk, and we red tag it. When replacement is the right call we walk you through furnace installation and replacement options, or a ductless heat pump if your home has no ductwork worth keeping.
Preventive Service So You Are Not Reading This Next Winter
Roughly half the no heat calls we take were preventable at a fall tune up. A dirty filter starves airflow, the limit switch trips, the furnace short cycles, and the blower motor dies six months early.
Most manufacturers also require documented annual service to keep the parts warranty valid. Skipping maintenance can void the coverage you paid for. Most repairs are done in one visit, usually inside 60 to 90 minutes once we are on site. Jobs needing a special order part take longer, and we tell you the lead time before you commit.
Do you repair every furnace brand?
We repair gas and electric furnaces from every major manufacturer, including units we did not install. We are an authorized Trane and Mitsubishi dealer, and we also work on Hisense, Daikin and Bosch equipment.
Is it worth repairing an eighteen year old furnace?
Sometimes. A cheap part on an otherwise healthy unit is worth doing. A major component failure at that age rarely is, because the next failure is usually right behind it. We give you both numbers and let you choose.

As early in the morning as you can manage. Our schedule runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and the first calls of the day have the best chance of a same day slot during a cold snap.
